When Can I Apply for a Medicare Supplement Plan In New York?
During the six-month Medigap Open Enrollment period will be the best time to gain Medicare benefits. This time will offer pricing and options from a Medicare insurance company that are better.
Age 65 or older,your enrollment begins when you have Part B. It can’t be changed or repeated.
When turning 65,the first day of the month your birthday will begin your six-month period to enroll. Enrollment in Part B will be needed.
Under the age of 65,you may not have eligibility. Some states require Medigap insurance companies to sell policies to those under 65, but it generally costs more.
Enrollment periods do not apply to Medicare supplement plans. They only apply to Part D Plans, Medicare Advantage, Aging into the Federal Medicare Program, Retiring from group coverage, and Losing a Medicare Advantage plan.
If you are receiving Social Security, the SSA will automatically sign you up and handle your enrollment for Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B at the age of 65. The Federal Medicare Program is operated by the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

3. Best value: Medicare Plan N
Plan N is great for individuals wanting comprehensive coverage but is willing to trade certain benefits for additional monthly savings. For example, ER visits will generally have a $50 copay, but if admitted, the copay is waived. As for doctor’s visits, it will cover up to $20.
4. Plan High Deductible F: Great Cost Savings Paired with Original Plan F Benefits
The high deductible version of Plan F is the same but requires an annual deductible to be met before coverage kicks in. This plan is substantially cheaper than the original plan F option.
5. Plan G High Deductible: Innovative Plan that Greatly Reduces Monthly Premiums
This plan is similar to Plan G in all ways except for the annual deductible to be met prior to coverage starting. Plan G with Higher Deductible is more affordable than the other Plan G option.
